WoW Midnight PvP updates introduces three major PvP additions: the large-scale Slayer’s Rise battleground, open-world PvP objectives throughout the Voidstorm, and revamped Training Grounds to help you build confidence before jumping into competitive play.
Slayer’s Rise Battleground
Slayer’s Rise is a new headline PvP mode set within the Voidstorma 40 vs 40 battlefield inspired by the big, team-driven clashes of Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest.
- Setting and story: Two powerful domanaar warlords are locked in a struggle for dominance. Alliance and Horde forces are drawn into the conflict and aligned with one of these rival domanaar.
- Opening clash: Both teams start on opposite ends of the map and converge in the center for a massive skirmish over an initial control point. Capturing it grants an early strategic edge.
- Lane push and objectives: From there, each side advances down a lane toward the enemy base, dismantling defenses and taking down key NPC targets. Teams will also peel off to recruit neutral NPC allies to bolster their push.
- Team strategy: Success demands a balance of offense, defense, and timely recruiting. Coordinate to break through, overcome the enemy’s fortifications, and ultimately defeat the opposing domanaar to claim victory.
World PvP in the Voidstorm
Slayer’s Rise connects to an outdoor section of the Voidstorm built to spark organic world PvP. The zone features multiple conflict hotspots plus useful services for PvP-minded players.
Key points of interest:
- Horde Keep: Local stories, faction NPCs, and guards
- Alliance Keep: Local stories, faction NPCs, and guards
- Neutral PvP Hub: Dueling area, PvP vendors, and portals to PvP locations
Players who prefer not to enable War Mode can still complete regular World Quests here, while those who engage in world PvP will find greater rewards available.

This mode helps you understand battleground flow and how different classes contribute to objectives, so you’re better prepared for live matches. Expect win rates above 50%, but don’t underestimate the opposition skill and teamwork are still essential.
