The Devourer Demon Hunter is a third specialization that draws on Void power instead of Fel. This mid range, glaive focused, soul harvesting spellcaster keeps the signature Demon Hunter mobility and can pivot between ranged pressure and close range burst. With specialization choices and Hero Talents, you can tailor your build to jump into melee and unleash powerful combo chains.
Ability highlights
-
Void Metamorphosis
After reaping enough souls, you trigger a signature Demon Hunter transformation with a Void twist. There is no cooldown and no fixed duration. Once active, your power spikes, Void Ray behaves differently, and your Fury drains quickly. How long you remain transformed and how strong you become depends on how well you drain, consume, and harvest souls. -
Void Ray
A Void touched take on Eye Beam with longer reach and more frequent casts, while staying just as lethal. -
Collapsing Star
A major share of your Void Metamorphosis damage comes from this finisher. After consuming a large number of souls, you channel their strength into one destructive blast that turns enemies to ash. Each time you cast Collapsing Star during Void Metamorphosis, it grows stronger.
25 yard range
2.5 second cast
Channel Void energy into a single cataclysmic strike, dealing Cosmic damage to your target and nearby foes.
Fury does not drain while you are casting Collapsing Star.
For extra Void flavor, when you play Devourer, all Demon Hunter abilities use Void visuals and icons, including shared abilities across all three specs.
New Hero Talents
With the new specialization, Demon Hunters also gain a new Hero Talent tree called Annihilator. This tree is shared by Devourer and Havoc. Devourer also gains access to the Scarred Hero Talent tree, formerly known as Fel Scarred.
New race and class combo
Void Elf Demon Hunter becomes available through a short quest line in the Midnight pre expansion content update, launching alongside the Devourer specialization.
